Cellist - Soloist, Chamber & Orchestral Player

Since graduating from the Royal Academy of Music in 2006, where she won the Moir Carnige award for best graduation recital, Louisa Tuck has established herself as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer. Louisa has recorded with Naxos, Virgin Classics and Teldec as a soloist with The Academy of St. Martins in the Fields for a CD of music by Debbie Wiseman, and as a soloist has appeared at the Royal Festival Hall, Spoleto Festival, St James Piccadilly, Leeds International Chamber Music Festival, Soundwaves and at venues throughout the UK, including Norfolk & Norwich, and Chipping Camden Festivals.

Louisa was principal cellist of the combined symphony orchestras of the RAM and the Juilliard school at the 2005 BBC Proms, in a live TV broadcast conducted by Sir Colin Davis. As an orchestral musician, she has performed with the Northern Sinfonia (currently on trial for section leader), BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra (currently on trial for Principal Cello), LSO, Philharmonia Orchestra (currently on trial for No.4 position), ENO, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, RPO, London Chamber Orchestra and was featured on a DVD of masterclasses at the Wigmore Hall given by the veteran cellist Bernard Greenhouse. She has broadcast live on BBC Radio 2, 3, 4 and Classic FM. Louisa is regularly invited to perform in the USA at the International Musical Arts Institute chamber music festival.

Louisa studied with Amanda Truelove and Robert Max at the Purcell School, and with Paul Watkins and Philip Sheppard at the Royal Academy of Music. She has received awards from the Musicians Benevolent Fund and the Countess of Munster Trust.
